Position Function:

The IT Core Banking Product Manager determine and oversee delivery of the strategy and roadmap for their products to achieve business outcomes and financial objectives. Their responsibilities include coordinating with IT, business, and financial stakeholders to set priorities, managing new development and operations, and providing direction and oversight to product teams.

This position directs the long-term strategic plan of the Core Banking Services teams. The IT Core Banking Product Manager manages and supports business plans, defines the strategic long-term roadmap, creates contingency plans, and ensures that the delivery of all products and services within their purview meet performance criteria based on IT metrics.

Position Responsibilities: 

Strategic Planning

  • Develop a deep understanding of business goals and processes to inform product priorities and improvement recommendations.
  • Lead product strategy, planning, and life cycle management efforts.
  • Monitor business, market, and technology trends to inform product strategy and proactively propose new solutions.
  • Establish product roadmaps and release plans that satisfy requirements and achieve business outcomes.

Technology Product Management

  • Contribute to translating business requirements into actionable product and technical requirements.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate product performance and proactively champion product improvements.
  • Determine internal and contract/external resources and skills required for the product team to deliver on the product roadmap.
  • Guide the product engineering team to scope, plan and deliver work, applying established delivery methodologies (e.g., agile methods) and best practices (e.g., reusability).
  • Proactively identify and resolve blockers to achieve business objectives for the product, including technical and resourcing challenges.
  • Increase adoption and consumption of product capabilities.
  • Manage investment decision making and finances for the product, taking a return-on-investment approach to increasing the value while minimizing product costs.
  • Serve as product manager for multiple, related products, where applicable.
  • Manages and maintains 3rd party service provider relations, service levels, and contract requirements.
  • Facilitate the design, implementation, management, and communication of customer focused strategic business plans/charters for products and services within the purview of Core Banking Services.
  • Define, manage, and implement the long-term strategic product and service roadmaps.
  • Develop strong relationships and regularly communicate with product stakeholders and customers to shape the product strategy and surface and prioritize needs.


  • Ensure alignment and adherence to corporate, financial and IT standards (e.g., architecture, compliance, security).
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for network resource administration and appropriate use.

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in information technology or related field from an accredited college or university


  • 5-7+ years of related work experience in technology product management or related experience
  • 4+ years of management experience
  • 2+ years of banking and financial technology services experience is preferred
