Position Summary

Responsible for the operation and incident response of Middleware components. Supporting the continued availability, effectiveness and risk compliance of the Middleware layer.

Essential Duties

  • Serve as the initial point of contact for middleware technologies across the enterprise.
  • Assist with design, development, installation, tuning, and maintenance of middleware
  • applications.
  • Assist with provisioning platforms and infrastructure for middleware solutions.
  • Knowledge-sharing and mentoring team members on various technologies, processes, or solutions.
  • Work with application development teams providing support of middleware components.
  • Perform backup and recovery, security, patch management, monitoring, and performance tuning.
  • Serve as technical resource to business analysts, solutions development, and other groups responsible for application development standards, system design and integration.
  • Prepare and maintain professional documentation of servers, applications, and network configurations as they relate to middleware components and infrastructure.
  • Ensure systems remain at operational excellence during infrastructure improvements. (hardware/software upgrades server migrations/consolidations, application deployment, etc.).
  • Ensure adherence to quality and security standards defined for the engagement Perform Trend analysis, identify top incidents and work with respective teams and individuals to minimize these.
  • Participate in regular on-call rotation support meeting business SLAs.
  • Support new projects on an as-needed basis.
  • May serve as resource for the work group through knowledge in areas of specialization and drive middleware service improvement programs.
  • Support technical designs for assigned projects and recommend technical solutions based on experience and industry knowledge.
  • Be aware of the future pipeline and remains abreast of the latest middleware technologies.
  • Must be able to effectively work remotely to assist users via telephone and/or tele-conferencing.
  • Required to support after hours on-call and respond in a timely manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education, Certifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related IT field required.
  • 2 years of relevant experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge or prior experience within Middleware, JAVA or related technology.
  • Knowledge of computer software systems, office applications, and operating systems.
  • Excellent analytical and diagnostic skills.
  • High-level communication skills.
  • Equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.
