Job Summary

Regular, Part-Time (50% FTE), Limited-Term (not to exceed July 1, 2025), RCUH Non-Civil Service position with the Department of Psychology, Center for Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CCBT), Data to Wisdom Program, located in Honolulu, Hawai‘i. Continuation of employment is dependent upon program/operational needs, satisfactory work performance, availability of funds, and compliance with applicable Federal/State laws.

MINIMUM MONTHLY SALARY: $1,324.50/Mon. (@50% FTE)

DUTIES: The Digital Communications and Graphic Designer (DCGD) shall lead the data and informational visualization, digital media, and graphic design efforts of the Data to Wisdom Program, in alignment with the strategic communication efforts of the Child & Adolescent Mental Health Division (CAMHD). These efforts include improving the visibility and awareness of Data to Wisdom-led initiatives and research initiatives using digital and online platforms. This DCGD shall support online communication for Data to Wisdom-led initiatives. The position also ensures that communications are in alignment with current CAMHD mental health strategies, philosophies, and policies and procedures. The DCGD works with the Social Marketing Director on the Data to Wisdom program to develop key communications activities related to data and information visualization. This position also works with other CAMHD staff and partners, including children and youth, families, parent partners, and other parent advocates to develop strategies that connect families of children and youth with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges to information, community resources, and a network of mutual support. The position supports key communications activities led by the Social Marketing Director, including website management; email marketing and communications; content management; content creation; internal and external communications; social media; database management; multi-platform analytics; public relations; print collateral, video graphics and design.

PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/TRAINING: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university in journalism, communications, media, marketing, graphic design, or related field.

EXPERIENCE: Two to four (2-4) years of experience working in content creation, maintenance, and management for websites, and social and multimedia platforms (such as Google Sites, Squarespace, WordPress, Mailchimp, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter), including writing and editing, video production, and graphic design.

KNOWLEDGE: Advanced understanding of the current digital media and mass communications landscape, ethics, principles, and best practices. Understanding of marketing and media planning principles and ethics. Familiar with health care service delivery systems and continuous quality improvement process. Advanced proficiency and demonstrated experience with use of Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud Suite software. Advanced proficiency and demonstrated experience with mainstream digital, website and social media platforms (e.g., Google Sites, Squarespace, WordPress, Google Analytics, Mailchimp, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter), including website content management and maintenance, and familiarity with methods for editing/debugging html-based functionality, scripting languages, or xml. Advanced proficiency and demonstrated experience with video production.

ABILITIES & SKILLS: Above moderate to high levels of interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Must have strong ethical leadership, technology, analytic, critical thinking, judgement, problem-solving, and trouble-shooting skills. Ability to interpret data and create comprehensive analysis.
